Kara, a high school counselor drove
200 miles to Northern Michigan in drifting snow squalls for a Weekend
Beadaway in February 2007.
She developed a passion for lampwork
beads after taking a group class with 10 other people last year.
After working on a hothead for awhile, she decided that maybe taking
some one on one classes with me would help her understand the properties
of glass a bit better.

We worked on improving basic
techniques and explored the wide possibilities available on such a small
canvas.
A wonderful sense of humor and love of
life, we stayed up until wee hours of the morning drooling over my
collector beads and laughing.
I hope we get to see her again in
Northern Michigan soon.
