Susan's Weekend Beadaway January 2007

Susan is a public school biology teacher with a love for beads!  She works too much at school, and wanted to explore her creative impulses through jewelry making and beads!  After working on her own with a beginning lampwork kit she decided to take a class with me to improve her skills.

Through her love of biology, Susan wanted to learn how to make beads that were more organic in nature.  So, we abandoned the lesson plans, and concentrated on reactive glass, reactive frits, applying silver leaf, focals and creating very earthy designs in glass.

She has a great sense of color and a deep passion for this art form, and I can't wait to see how her skills improve even more over time!

Great Job Susan!  It was a pleasure to work with you!
